Instagram is testing 60 second stories

When you post a video longer than 15 seconds on Instagram Story, it splits into multiple videos: This is because Instagram only supports videos up to 15 seconds long. But soon things will change…

One of the big changes to Instagram Story

Instagram is an app in which you will get almost all the features. Apart from sharing photos and videos on Instagram, you can also create short videos on Tiktok. Although all these features make Instagram a user-friendly social network, you can’t create stories on Instagram longer than 15 seconds until Alessandro Paluzzi announced.

In October 2021, developer and social media researcher Alessandro Paluzzi noticed that Instagram was testing longer stories.

This is considered one of the big changes for Instagram Story, and it seems like a natural next step to keep users engaged with the app. In fact, the maximum duration of the video will be one minute (60 seconds) which is no longer cut into pieces.

Testing has started!

It was long awaited. In January, Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced upcoming changes to the app’s video products in an effort to streamline the content creation and process and reduce the platform’s various tools.

As Mosseri told Decoder:

We’re looking at how we can – not just with IGTV, but across Instagram – simplify and consolidate views, as we rolled out a lot of new bets last year. I think this year we need to refocus our attention on simplicity and craftsmanship.

By simplifying the app, it will allow Instagram to focus more specifically on Key elements that generate the most engagement in the application – Especially in stories and reels.

And it’s done! Instagram officially launched a live test of 60-second videos in Stories this November 2021. This means that longer video clips will no longer be broken into 15-second segments and played over individual story images.

According to Instagram:

, The ability to create long Stories articles is highly sought after by our community. We’re excited to test 60-second stories so that people can create and watch stories with fewer interruptions. ,

Instagram continues the fight against TikTok

Instagram says the option is still being tested with a small group of users, aimed atProvide more creative freedom and further integrate different video options Of application to streamline your creative tools and tasks. Nevertheless, this new test is an important step and a more fundamental change for the application and is trying to overtake TikTok.

TikTok is one of the most downloaded apps in the world. Two years after its global launch, it reached 1 billion users, with 614 million downloads between January and November 2019. That said, Instagram – the platform that gave birth to “online influencers” – is still highly influential.

Captivating moving image is the future of entertainment, and at this point, TikTok is the place to be explored. But if you’re looking for new ways to expand your Instagram account, Instagram Reels are a great way to add depth to your brand presentation in the form of a short video. Remember, if you are new to TikTok, you can link your already established Instagram account to your account by reposting the watermarked version of your video to the reels.

Don’t be afraid to grow and use both platforms to your advantage. You can very well use Instagram in B2B or even TikTok. They can certainly trade for each other in a way that can be of tremendous benefit to your business or brand.
