You know, Gmail users can unsend email after sending it. But they can also extend its duration so that they have more time to cancel the shipment. Here’s how to do it…
Benefits of Email Marketing
The first email was sent in 1971, and it has permanently changed the way we communicate with each other! Today, companies are using it to connect with their target market, strengthen their credibility in their industry, and increase their sales.
Unlike some other marketing channels, email marketing allows you to be in constant touch with your customers. Whether it’s a simple “thank you for subscribing” or a heartfelt “happy birthday,” it’s the easiest and most effective way to let your customers know that you appreciate them. Customers love it when a business considers itself personal, personalizing the message. There are many benefits of email marketing:
1. Targeting the Right Audience
This is probably one of the biggest benefits of email marketing for small businesses – it allows you to reach your target audience, no matter where they are. In fact, research has shown that people spend 30% of their time at work and 50% of their time at home checking email. So much time spent in the inbox!
2. A Profitable Way
For small businesses on a budget, getting the most out of their money means using email marketing.
Low cost + high return on investment = a winning small business.
3. Track Metrics Over Time
Good to know what works. You can continue to build on past successes. Equally important is recognizing where you can improve. When you see an email with a great click-through rate, use it as a basis for sending it in the future.
4. Effective Call to Action
With effective call-to-action, you can help drive sales faster. Since they are asked to “call now” or “send an email today,” recipients don’t have to guess what to do next. This will keep their attention focused and directed on your business.
4. Persistent Awareness and Increased Awareness
Focus on regular communication with content that is interesting and relevant to your audience. By providing applicable and relevant information, you position yourself as an expert and show your audience that you care about them beyond sales.
A Very Practical Feature on Gmail
Google’s Gmail messaging service allows users to change their mind and stop sending emails. But it’s not the only messaging app that has this functionality; Other applications also offer it like Twitter which allows you to cancel sent tweets.
But Gmail also lets you decide how long to press the “Cancel” button before it’s too late, a feature available through a web browser on an iOS or Android device.
4 Steps to Set the Time to Cancel Email Sending
To set the duration, connect to the web version of Gmail, then:
- Click on the “Settings” wheel in the upper right corner, then click “View all settings”;
- Under the “General” tab, search for “Cancel Shipment”;
- Choose the amount of time you want Gmail to give you to change your mind: 5 seconds (standard duration), 10 seconds, 20 seconds, or 30 seconds;
- Click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
When you click send you will see an option in the lower left corner to “cancel” your email which will last as long as you set it up. This facility will also be available in the mobile app.
So, if you wish, you can click “Cancel” and you will be taken back to your draft email to retrieve your email.
